What personal data we collect
We collect only the data we need to run your account, keep play fair and meet the duties that come with holding a gaming licence and verifying every account. Some of it you give us directly, and some is created automatically when you use the site.
Account and contact details
- Your name, date of birth, home address, e-mail address and mobile number.
- Your username, password and the details used to recover access to your account.
- Your marketing preferences and the channels you have agreed to hear from us on.
- The safer gambling settings on your account, such as deposit limits, reality checks and time-outs.
Identity and age verification
Before a withdrawal, and at points during the life of your account, we ask for documents that confirm who you are, how old you are and where you live. That normally means a photo identity document, a recent proof of address and, where a payment needs checking, proof that the payment method belongs to you. We keep a record of each check and the date it was completed.
Payments and play
- Deposits, withdrawals, payment methods and the records our payment providers return to us.
- Bonus claims, wagering progress and the balance history shown in your account.
- Game rounds, stakes and results, including any free spin or bonus activity.
Device and usage data
- Your IP address, the approximate location taken from it, device type, operating system and browser.
- Log-in times, the pages and games you open and the actions you take in the cashier.
- Records of your contact with us, including live chat transcripts and e-mails.
18+ only
Our site is for players aged 18 and over, and age checks are a condition of holding an account. You can set deposit limits, take a time-out or self-exclude in your account at any time. Free, confidential support is available from GamCare, GambleAware and the National Gambling Helpline, and GamStop blocks you from gambling sites licensed in Great Britain.
Why we use your data and the legal bases for it
Under UK GDPR we need a lawful reason for every use of your personal data. In plain words, the reasons we rely on are our contract with you, a legal duty we have to meet, our legitimate interests in running a safe service and, for marketing, your consent.
What we use it for
- Opening, running and closing your account, and letting you deposit, play and withdraw.
- Confirming that you are 18 or over and that you are who you say you are.
- Spotting fraud, bonus abuse, collusion and use of someone else's payment method.
- Meeting our anti-money-laundering, record-keeping and regulatory reporting duties.
- Answering your questions and looking into any complaint you raise with us.
- Applying the safer gambling tools you have chosen and acting on patterns of play that concern us.
- Sending offers and account news where you have opted in, and keeping the site secure and working.
The legal bases in plain words
| What we do | Why we are allowed to do it |
|---|---|
| Run your account, take deposits and pay withdrawals | Performance of our contract with you: the terms you accepted when you registered |
| Age and identity checks, source-of-funds enquiries and anti-money-laundering records | Compliance with the legal obligations that apply to us |
| Fraud prevention, site security and protecting other players | Our legitimate interests in running a safe and fair service |
| Marketing e-mails, texts and on-site messages | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Safer gambling contact and, where needed, limiting or closing an account | Our legal obligations together with our legitimate interests |
Saying no to marketing, or changing your mind later, has no effect on your ability to play. Where we rely on our legitimate interests, we weigh them against your privacy first, and you can object as set out below.
How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is open, and then for the period our legal, regulatory and accounting duties require after it closes. That period is set by law rather than by us, and it covers identity documents, transaction records, play history and the outcome of any checks we carried out.
Some records are kept for a specific reason beyond that: a self-exclusion is kept for the term you chose, together with the details needed to enforce it, and anything relating to a complaint or an investigation is kept until the matter is closed. When a record is no longer needed, we delete it or make it permanently anonymous so that it can no longer be linked to you.
Closing an account is not the same as deletion
We cannot erase records we are required to keep, and a self-exclusion stays in place for its full term even if you ask us to delete your other data.
Your rights and how to use them
Under UK data protection law you have the rights below. They are free to use, and we reply within the time the law allows.
- Access: a copy of the personal data we hold about you and an explanation of how we use it.
- Correction: details that are wrong or out of date put right.
- Erasure: deletion of data we no longer have a reason to keep, except records we must retain by law.
- Restriction: a pause on our use of your data while a question about it is being looked into.
- Objection: an objection to uses based on our legitimate interests, and to marketing at any time.
- Portability: the data you gave us, in a commonly used electronic format.
- Withdrawing consent: marketing switched off in your account settings or through the unsubscribe option in any message.
To use any of these rights, write to privacy@casinojokabet.co.uk or support@casinojokabet.co.uk, or start a live chat with us on the site. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, so that we never hand your data to someone else.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us and we will look into it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which oversees data protection in the UK. Going to the ICO does not affect any other right you have, including your right to go to court.
Cookies and changes to this policy
We and our suppliers use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your settings, measure how the site performs and, where you have agreed, show you advertising. You choose which optional cookies to accept when you first arrive and can change that choice at any time in the cookie settings on the site, although necessary cookies cannot be switched off because the site will not work without them. What each type does, and how long it lasts, is set out in our Cookie Policy.
We update this policy when the way we use data, the technology behind the site or the law changes. The current version is always on this page, and we tell you about significant changes by e-mail or by a notice in your account before they take effect.
